A medium lemon coloured champagne with fairly high intensity aromas of red apple, honey, butter scone, ripe pear and touch of cane sugar and steel. Dry with quite high acidity, medium alcohol and fuller than medium bodied. Creamy mouthfeel. On palate it gives over medium intensity flavours of red apple, honey, cream and peach. Barely over medium length with honey bread finish. (91)

有一定舊酒成份的香檳,走豐厚路線。酒香不錯,拍得住上千元的香檳,酒味及餘韻才說給你知其真正水準。酒味在口中複雜性不及香氣,餘韻亦不太長,是一枝不錯的香檳,佐餐會很好。

This Sauternes has medium intensity gold colour. On nose it gives fairly high intensity aromas of honey, citrus peel, orange marmalade and touch of mineral, grass and gooseberry. It is sweet with fairly high acidity, medium alcohol and full bodied with slightly higher than medium flavours of honey, gooseberry, lemon, orange peel, and mineral. Longer than medium length with honey lemon. (91) Alcohol stands out a bit.

這酒有著一貫的蘇岱風格。酒香濃烈,酒味有著濃厚果 感之餘亦帶點點青草氣息。酒的甜酸度亦平衡不錯,餘韻算長,唯一缺點是酒精感突出了點,但整體來說是一枝不錯的甜酒。

2008 Aristos Duquesa d'A Grand Chardonnay

A medium lemon coloured dry white wine with over medium intensity noses of lemon, floral, amber, vanilla and touch of wood dust, honey and peach. It is dry with quite high acidity, medium alcohol and fuller than medium bodied. On palate it has slightly higher than medium level flavours of lemon, vanilla spice, peach and wood dust. Fair long length with honey amber finish. (93)

這枝智利白酒說明了新世界酒有無限潛力。酒香及酒味也算強烈 ,亦有一定複雜性,而這酒的複雜性展現出布根地的白酒感覺,餘韻亦長,是一枝好酒,還可陳放一下。試完之後才知這酒是由一班布根地的人製作的,怪不得有這感覺。

1. 與酒的幸運相遇:這一章有 4 節:介绍了一些古老時代人類飲用的酒,包括蜜糖酒、馬乳酒、葡萄酒、椰子酒等。說出了人類造酒的源流。

2. 文明更帶動了釀酒:這個章節介紹了四大文明古國各自的酒,也包括了一些地區流傳至今的酒,例如:東亞地區的黃酒、日本酒和印加帝國的粟米酒。

3. 自伊斯蘭圈傳至東西方的蒸餾酒:這章的標題已說明一切。就是蒸餾酒的出現;它的歷史及應用;伏特加的來源;威士忌及拔蘭地的誕生;以及其他地方如日本燒酌、亞力酒、阿刺吉酒等。

4. 隨海洋與航海蔓延的飲酒文化:這章說的是酒文化的申延與交流。透過大航海時代各產地的酒互通有無、其間因交通運輸而出現的加烈酒及一些新開發地區的地道酒,例如:雪利酒、龍舌蘭酒、冧酒等。

讀後感: 

這本書是一本講歷史的書,只是它用酒作為切入點而寫的。所以在編排上時頗跟時序的。版面及編輯很簡潔,酒類的介紹範疇也算有足夠的覆蓋,行文很流暢易讀,是一本輕鬆簡易的消閒讀物。

從酒的文化去介紹世界發展是一個不錯的主題。酒本身是一種很本土的產物,所以本書開始的章節也是由世界各地不同的民族地方所產生的酒 ,再經由交易、輸出、改良等而變成多樣化,而這個過程亦隨著世界各地所發生的事件改變。因此,酒的歷史跟世界的歷史是並肩同行的。

對酒有深入認識的人可能會對這書有關酒的介紹方法覺得略有不足,因為這書對酒的造法說得有些簡單,不夠全面。但對酒的來源介紹及一些文化事件還是不錯的。此外,這書亦介紹了一些和酒有關的故事,很有趣,原來蜜月(Honeymoon)是一個跟酒有關的。

總的來說,這書是一本歷史書,不是專業的酒書。資深酒友千萬別嚴謹地看,是一本很好也很有趣的睡前讀物。

This wine has medium lemon green colour. On nose it has medium intensity aromas of ripe pear, steel, honey and lemon. The sweetness is off-dry but less than medium level. Medium acidity and alcohol, bit fuller than medium bodied. On palate it has quite high intensity flavours of honey, steel and peardrop. Slightly longer than medium length with honey and pear finish. 簡簡單單,公公整整的一枝微甜白酒。酒展現了品種的特性, 在口中口感也頗豐滿。酒味在口中強度更甚,只是複雜性較簡單,餘韻亦算長。幾好飲,配中餐很不錯,大大啖飲很開心的。

A medium lemon green coloured dry white chardonnay wine with fairly high intensity aromas of lemon, honey, grass, vanilla and touch of musk, floral and mineral. Medium acidity and alcohol. Quite full bodied with slightly over medium flavour intensity. Fairly long length with flavours of lemon, floral ,grass, vanilla and touch of almond. Citrus finish. (92) Good length, bit lack of mid palate.

飲過這酒的幾個不同年份,整體來說全都很不錯,這枝亦然。酒香強,複雜性已開始展現,酒味在口中也有些複雜性,但鬆散了些,餘韻不錯,亦算長。現在可飲,但相信放多一兩年會更好的。

Deep ruby coloured with fairly high intensity noses of red plum, cabbage, wet leaves, strawberry, damp wood and touch of smoke. It is dry with medium acidity, medium alcohol and fuller than medium bodied. Medium ripe and fine-grained tannin. On palate it gives over medium intensity flavours of red plum, rose, black berry and touch of smoke and wet earth. Medium length with red cherry finish. (90)

這酒莊的酒果味很足夠的。酒香及酒味都有一定強度及複雜性,合適的餘韻,單寧亦柔順,以一枝村酒來說是中上水準的,但這是一枝一級田的酒,可以更好的。09年的紅布果味真的熟,特別是這酒及這莊,喜愛強勁果感的人可能會很喜歡 09 年。

1971 Cognac Grande Champagne, Cognac de Collection, Jean Grosperrin

This cognac has medium intensity gold colour. On nose it has quite high intensity aromas of jasmine, honey, apricot, orange and touch of ginger, cinnamon and vanilla. Water enhances its floral notes but reduces the others. Dry with medium acidity, warming medium alcohol and quite full bodied. On palate it gives quite high intensity flavours of jasmine, apricot, orange peel and touch of chalk. Fairly long length with cinnamon honey finish. (93)

酒的香氣及酒味都很好,複雜而強,亦展現了大香檳區干邑的特色,餘韻算長。香料味頗強的一款酒,只是陳年感欠了點,而且酒在口中的口感不夠豐滿,寡了點。總體是好喝的。

A deep ruby dry red wine with medium intensity aromas of black plum, dust, earth, smoke, blackcurrant leaf, licorice and damp wood. Medium acidity, alcohol and quite full bodied. Medium soft ripe tannin too. On palate it has slightly over medium intensity flavours of black plum, black cherry, smoke, earth, cabbage and licorice. Fairly long length with red plum finish. (92)

不錯的複雜性,不論在口中或酒香也是,餘韻亦長,只是酒的強度不算強。單寧亦柔順。酒在口中表現比酒香好。這酒飲過起碼三次以上,以這次最好,有貨的可以試了。

Deep ruby colour with quite intense nose of rose, blood, steel, red plum, anise and touch of smoke and toast. It is dry with medium acidity, alcohol and bodied. Medium ripe tannin and flavour intensity. The flavours contain rose, red plum, smoke, meat and touch of cabbage and earth. Medium lingering length with red cherry finish (92)

酒的複雜性很好,香氣也很強烈,單寧成熟。酒味充足 ,只是強度不及酒香咁強,餘韻亦然。雖不至於說酒味在口中突然消散,但直的比想像中散得快。整體來說也很不錯,只是酒在口中表現差了點。

This dry white wine has medium intensity lemon colour. On nose it gives quite high intensity aromas of lemon jam, straw, mineral, hazelnut, honey and vanilla. Medium acidity, alcohol and full bodied, with quite high flavours intensity. Lemon candy, white flower, hazelnut, cantaloupe and touch of wet stone. Slightly longer than medium length with honey nutty finish. (92)

試過這款酒的很多個不同年份,這枝算是最熟及重身,少了點這葡萄園的特性。酒的強度及複雜性都好,餘韻亦長。只是酒的味有點散散的,令人覺得差了點 。

2004 Puligny Montrachet Les Pucelles, Doamine Jean Boillot & Fils

Medium lemon colour with higher than medium intensity aromas of lemon, roasted nuts, white flower, mineral and touch of honey. It is dry with medium acidity, medium alcohol and quite full bodied. On palate it gives quite high intensity flavours of lemon, pear, white flower and wet stones. Longer than medium length with lemon juice finish. (91) Good mineral character but need better acidity.

酒的礦物質感很好,酒的香氣及酒味的強度很一致,也算強。複雜性不算太複雜,但果味保存得不錯,幾好飲。
